Outlook Mobile for Android Sync Settings?

I just installed Outlook Mobile for work as my company moved to Office 365.

Here's my question, whenever I have previously used Outlook there was a setting option to sync email at specific intervals such as every 5 minutes, every hour, manual sync, etc. I can't find this setting any longer.

Where did it go? Thanks!

Hello,

Welcome to Microsoft Community and thank you for posting your query.

I would like to inform you that the sync interval  cannot be set for the Outlook application on android phone. Outlook sync automatically whenever it is connected to internet, it can be also sync by swiping the screen downwards.

I hope the above information helps. Let us know if you need further assistance.

Thank you.

    Update - problem solved (likely):

After doing some digging, and finally contacting the support through the app, they suggested me to check if in my Android system, the data usage was restricted when app not active.

The data usage was not restricted. However, there was a battery usage restriction (guess it was added by the Android system itself, as a default setting). After removing the restriction, it seems to work fine. The messages update almost real time.

I will keep testing. If no further response here, it means it worked.

Hope to be helpful for somebody.

    Cheers!

    Hello everyone,

It looks like this issue has not been fixed in more than 2 years.

My problem is not the possibility to reduce the sync interval (which would be also fine). It's just the opposite. We just moved to Office 365 at work, and if I don't sync Outlook manually, I barely get real time emails on my Android phone. Not even at a 30 or 60 minutes rate. I've been testing Outlook on my Android for a week now, and I have no clue whether Outlook is syncing or not. Today I was away from the office the whole morning, happily thinking that I barely got 2 or 3 emails, and surprise, when I arrived and I started Outlook on my Surface, I got about 10 emails which had not been synced on my phone. Then I checked my phone again, opened Outlook, and "voila", the rest of the emails missing, just appeared. It looks like it only syncs when you start the app, or have it active. This is a pretty big issue I think. It's not reliable. I cannot be a whole morning away from my laptop, thinking I don't have to reply any emails, when they are really stacking on my inbox, but not syncing. It really annoys me returning back to the native Gmail app on the phone (since we moved away from Google Suite to Office 365, and we really want to have a full Office 365 experience in all our platforms), but at the moment, Gmail app it's much more reliable than Outlook for Android.

I know this is a very old thread, no hopes. But maybe somebody can see it or forward it somewhere else.

Outlook seems to sync only between about 9am and 5pm, local time (the time zone in which I am located). Is there any way to have it sync constantly, my android app does not seem to do that.

Microsoft should accept Android, develop for Android seriusly and forget any idea of Windows in pocket devices. That will not happen.
