Outlook 2016 for mac, email reply greys out screen

I am having an issue on Outlook for Mac ver. 15.26.1 running OS Sierra

When I have Outlook in "full screen" mode and an email opened in a window and hit "reply" the entire screen goes semi-grey and when I click anywhere on screen it gets rid of the grey but it minimizes the email window.  I can click on the minimized window to bring it back up and then it's fine, but it's seriously annoying and slows down my efficiency and productivity.  This only happens when I have the email opened in a window and hit "reply".  It does not happen when I just select the email from the inbox and hit reply from the tool bar.  Anyone else having this issue?

We generally don't pre-announce the dates for updates.  In general if you are on Insiders Fast, you will be the first to get recent updates, followed by Insiders Slow and then production (official release).  However, there is a lead time between when a fix is made and when the update is released.  If a fix doesn't make the cutoff, it would be in the following update.  This means if you are NOT on an Insider release, and a fix just misses the cutoff for a production release, it could take a month for you to get the fix.

All that being said, if are on Insider Fast, you should update to the latest release that went out earlier this week and see if the fix is there.

    JohnWang,

In my memory I installed just after that statement of yours an update (13th or 14th of October) which certainly didn't fix this issue. This might have been an update from before which I still had to install, but it gave me the impression, because it was presented just after your statement of the 12th of October.

But then again, if this the case, and the fix, you mentioned is already there, will only be distributed in the next update? When will this update be deployed then? please manage our expectation because without the perspective of a due date, I just don't feel convident about this one.

Can you please make a statement about this?

    Regards,

    Vincent Derksen.

As I mentioned earlier in the thread (October 12), we already have a fix, which should be in the next update.  The suggested workaround was just until the update comes out.

    Dear microsoft representative,

I really appreciate all the suggested workarounds for this issue. I really do, but it should not distract the attention from what it's really all about: Solving the problem!

Nowadays I do open everyday my outlook especially in a "non-maximized" window, adjust it manually, so it fits my screen to the max and then can use my email in a proper way. But I paid for a fully functioning product and as also stated above, it's the product I use most professionally on my mac! Since the diagnose is clear (regarding all workarounds suggested). What about the solution.....?!

So, in spite of all well intended suggestions. I don't want to see them anymore, I do want to know planning of when this issue will be solved. And I guess, so do the other users who suffer from this minor but nasty issue.

    Best regards,

    Vincent.

    Hello Vincent,

I support your demand. It's crazy to work with workarounds. I also use it most professionally on my mac. As a software architect I can't understand that there is no priority to fix this big problem. So, I also ask, when this issue will be solved. But for me it is not a minor issue.

    Best regards,

    Norbert
