How can I edit groups in Outlook.com? I find only the option to change the name or delete the group

Why not the usefull shortcuts contacts etc in the left colomn

Let me help you with your issues in managing your group contacts.

There are some minor changes happened in People page. To manage your contacts in a group, please refer to this thread and look for JMichael_M's post for instructions.

If you wish to view the list of people that is currently added in the group, please follow these steps:

1. Sign into http://people.live.com

  1. Click All v under People v.
  2. Click the name of the group you wish to view.

Hello,

Outlook.com lets you edit, add, delete and rename groups. This functionality is called "Manage Groups" and can be accessed from the "Manage" drop down menu in the header when on the People page.

Outlook.com also lets you add and remove people from a group.

  1. Visit the People page
  2. Select the contacts that you want to add to a group by clicking on the checkbox next to their name in the contact list
  3. The header shows an item called "Groups"
  4. Select the group you want to add this person to and click apply.

From this menu, you can also create a new group and manage groups.

    Hello,

    I agree that "apply" is not a straightforward way to say that you want to add someone to a group.  There also doesn't seem to be a way to view the list of emails in a group without starting an email.  I just wanted to see if I had added someone and who was in it.  I couldn't find a way to display the list and add or remove someone.  How do you remove someone from a group?

    This is very clumsy, awkward and not user friendly at all. Hotmail contacts/group management was so much easier and quicker.

    I did not want this change.  I have an unusaul probem that I have not seen others mention:

    Out of curiosity I clicked on the stupid banner at the top of hotmail when it mentioned IE9 working with hotmail for a better experience.  So what did I get?......

    Now I have hotmail (thank GOD), but without the user friendly hotmail contact list.   I don't have Outlook email, but I do have the Outlook contact list popup when I click on hotmail contact button.  Very hard to switch back and forth from one to the other.  I am afraid to do anything right now after reading all the horror stories.  I guess I will wait until they close hotmail down completely, but then I am afraid I won't have my folders and contacts that contain all my customer base and info.

    Any suggestions on what is best route to take so I don't lose my business.
