Now I can't edit contact and add new contact to outlook.com account on my Android phone.

I simply don't understand what Microsoft were thinking. this has obviously been an issue since at least 2013. that's 3-4 years. I use my tablet as my primary device. no more computer or laptop. this is the way the world is heading. i don't want to flick between google and outlook, what i am looking for is a one stop softwear program to fulfill my needs. Microsoft charge me on an anual basis for an office suite which primises to do everyting i need and compatible with android tablets and falls far short of a full functioning program. Very Very disappointed.

The inability to add contacts with emails addresses to outlook.com on android earns the app a 1 start rating.

Microsoft needs to get it together and enable two-way sync.

My desktop PC, my Android phone, and my iOS device all sync just fine using Exchange.

Its 2016, and it is still not possible to sync anything back to exchange.

I just added my hotmail.com account (which is now full exchnage), to outlook for android, and it syncs my contacts from hotmail to the phone. But not the other way round. If I edit a contact, it does not sync back.  If I create a new contact and say to put it in hotmail (rather than the default gmail), it says saved, then throws the contact away - it just dissapears from the phone and never appers in hotmail or outlook on my PC.

I have been trying for over a year to sync contacts on my PC in outlook with an android phone without buy additional expensive SW.  It is still impossible, 3 years on.  This has forced me to continue using my old iphone, as that syncs both ways flawlessly.  Is MS trying to force people to go apple, by not offering any way to sync contacts to android phones two ways?

After long discussion with both Microsoft service and Huawei service I found this workaround. Main problem is the Office 365 account, at every sync it replaces all the outlook contacts with the one on the server. I had to uninstall from all mobile application the office 365 account.  I installed on the contact account a new one as " business”, not Exchange, Office 365 or outlook !  I enter my email (onmicrosoft account in my case) , password and then to make it works you should put on server name  “ m.outlook.com “. After this I can edit, add and delete the contact both ways. Be careful if you install in Outlook for android a new account as office 365 the problem start again. Choose another mail app instead.
