How do i prevent the outlook logout from redirecting to msn?

At some point signing out of Outlook started redirecting to MSN. This is really frustrating - especially when accidently clicking anywhere on the screen that is NOT the login field causes the login form to disappear.

How do I disable this redirect? I would like to see the outlook login page when I sign out - not the MSN news page.

I too have done the feedback option but I doubt if it really has any effect.

I too intensely dislike the MSN page (I get MSN Ireland) as IMO it is ( as many others here have said) low quality "redtop" type journalism which I find offensive.

The latest problem for me is that the MSN content is now beginning to show up in the ads panel in outlook.com. I cannot upgrade to adfree outlook as it seems it is not possible to do so in Ireland.

Sure we could use a redirector to avoid the default logout page and/or an adblocker to block the ads in outlook.com but why have to go to such lengths ? Seems to me that the ultimate solution is simply to go with another mail provider - for all the criticism of google about ads/privacy I find the ads in gmail much less obtrusive and the logut page to be much more acceptable.

I cannot understand how Microsoft cannot see that this whole MSN connection is damaging to them ( at least to those of like mind to the opinions expressed in this thread)

    Hi Anna,

Thank you for the reply. Sorry for the delay.

As I understand, when you are using Outlook.com, it is re-directing to MSN.com.

    1. How are you trying to access your account, by using a browser or an email client?
    2. When you say re-direct is it opening MSN.com instead of Outlook.com?

If you are using a browser, try with a different browser and device.

Please get back to us with the required information to assist you further.

I am having the same problem and I hate it! I do not want to knw about gossiping, killing, beheading and such. I am trying to stay away from horrible things but it seems like it unavoidable.

How do I avoind landing on MSN.com? I am thinking not to use hotmail anymore but gmail which is much better. It re-directs me to google.com.

    Thanks!

amstech there is something you can do. Did you try the redirection software I recomend on page 2? Give it a try, if it doesn't work I can help you but include the browser you are using in your question.
