You are receiving the error: ***“******You're currently signed in with an Office 365 email account, which can't be used with Outlook.com”*because of the following reasons:

  1. Your Microsoft account was registered or still registered in Office 365.
  2. Your Microsoft account ends with .edudomain extension name and is being managed by your University domain administrator.

Please follow the instructions below to prevent receiving the error message when accessing your account.

  1. Make sure that you are using a different browser or try InPrivate Browsing (IE) / Incognito mode (Chrome) as this will keep your sessions separate and at least allow different sessions per window. You can visit this link for additional reference.
  2. Try to log into http://*mail.**office365**.com*

If your Microsoft account was registered or still registered in Office 365:

  1. Make sure that you're signed out from any Microsoft services.
  2. Optimize your browser by clearing its cache and cookies. You may follow the instructions in this **link** on how to do it.
  3. Then, sign into your account through this link: https://login.microsoftonline.com/  . You should not encounter the error message again.

If your Microsoft account ends with .edu domain extension name and is being managed by your University domain administrator:

  1. Make sure that you're signed out from any Microsoft services.
  2. Optimize your browser by clearing its cache and cookies. You may follow the instructions in this **link** on how to do it.
  3. Sign in to your account through http://www.outlook.com/\[yourdomainextensionname\] Example: Your email address ******@sample.edu. You should sign in throughhttp://www.outlook.com/sample.edu
  4. Please try to contact your University domain administrator and check for possible issues.

Thanks!

This was the original cause of my problem.

My problem started when I could not open my word files. After spending 12 hours checking everything in my computer I found out the culprit was Window's Update!

The present time; Australia 1.30p.m 28/072013 Eastern Standard Time.

Last Friday (A) EST Microsoft (automatic update) attempted to install 23/07/2013 Service Pack 2 Microsoft Office 2010, KB2687455 32 bit onto my hard drive (I was working on my computer at the time; I did not shut down 11.30p.m). Unbeknown to me Windows Defender rejected the update as "corrupted files".

When I turned my computer off and rebooted the next day--the fun began when I tried to open a Word file, the message I received: "word could not create the work file. Check the temp environment variables". Ok, I checked the TEV: %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\Temp-- Mate, this means nothing to me.

Finally at 11.00p.m last night the penny dropped! Then I retired for the night.

This morning I started at 10.00a.m (A) EST (the time now is 1.56p.m) I opened the Control Panel>Windows Defender >administrator>unchecked the box and turned defender OFF.

Then I went to Windows Update and tried to install the update; everything was going fine until near the end the installation box wore a red stripe with the comment "installation failed".

Ok, I hauled out my backup disc of Malwarebytes installed MB and checked my hard drive--no bogie.

OK, scanned my hard drive with Ccleaner disc-- cleaned the hard drive, then checked the registry--no errors.

    HOOray!

I went back to the Updater clicked install KB2687455.

    Yippeee Mission accomplished!

Check my W 2010 files ... Yes I can read and probably print--no knockbacks

Next I opened IE10. Nup, IE's file would not open I could not check my e-mail!

I found out that Malwarebytes was in charge of security. Geeeeeeeeeeeeeez.

I unistalled MB the went WD, checked the box, and got the green light.

Then I went back and clicked on the big blue E, the IE page came up.

    I clicked on OUTLOOK...

    And guess what happened?

"Outlook cannot use Windows Office 365 for an e-mail service".

    YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA.
