Calendar subscription does not refresh

It seems that the calendar events that you have subscribed with from another site is not properly updating. We'd like to ask for additional information so we can further investigate the issue. We have initiated a private message tab where we post the request for the information. The red link for the private message should be found above your post after you have signed in to this page. Only you and the moderators of this forum can access that private message tab so you need not to worry about your account’s security.

As for your issues concerning the feature to leave a copy of the messages on the servers, the respective support group of the mail program or device that you are using is the ones who can provide you the steps on how you can enable the settings of leaving a copy of the messages on the servers. Since you want to know if the feature is available in the surface tablet, you need to post an inquiry in the **Windows Forum** about the steps. You can also ask them questions about the color schemes and other features concerning the looks of the screen. By the way, if the settings in your automatically deletes emails from the servers when using POP3, you might please refer to the Add a Yahoo! Mail Plus or other POP account to Outlook.com categoryon this link to avoid losing messages.

If you will continue to experience any issues concerning the emails in your account as an effect of the synchronization in your devices, it would be best to create another post to avoid confusion and at the same time, we can give priority to it.

Colors: some can, some can't. 8.1 gives more options than straight 8. As on Windows Phone 8, some tiles will pick up from selected color scheme, some don't.

Email: not sure as I am no longer using POP3. Surface with 8.1 includes Outlook 2013 as a desktop application. I believe you'd have control with that, but cannot verify. I regularly switch between Outlook and the built-in Email app depending on mood and use case du jour. They stay in synch, as does calendar and the web-based Outlook.com. When the Modern UI apps have the functionality I need, I m finding that I tend to gravitate to the clean-screen, no chrome option they provide. Personal preference I suppose. I have a handful of applications I still use regularly on my non-Surface laptop or my MacBook Air, but those are fewer and fewer. WebEx is the big thing missing for me on Surface RT. Except for that, I could do most of my business as well as personal work on it. I have music in Amazon cloud and can now play in desktop Explorer, though that interface is limited.

Compared to initial release, Surface has become much more useful, and I love that, all-in, it cost me a pittance including keyboard and extra charger. I can leave my house with a fully-charged Surface and Windows Phone HTC 8x as a hotspot and go all day. But it does not do everything, and You have to adapt to some things.

Actually, I would rather just see you post the answer rather than point me to somewhere else to post a question for someone else to possibly post an answer.  This is sort of like looking up a word in the index which says to see another word, just to give the page number under the other word...Just answer yeah or nay...can I customize the Surface colors?  Does the POP3 setting allow one to leave a copy of the message on the server?!?

As far as THIS issue goes, it is not device-specific. The calendar subscription is not getting updated @ outlook.com or live.com, etc. on a timely basis. I see the symptom on my Surface, Windows phone 8, and in regular old Outlook on my PC as well. As for liking the Surface (I have one - RT - love it), if the new iOS makes you sick, you might not like it. It is basically Windows 8 on a touch tablet with nice keyboard option. Windows 8 uses a "flat" look and feel that iOS7 adopted. Sounds like you have particular needs that would be handled better by a full OS like Windows or OSx (there are others) rather than something geared primarily for mobile.

Can the colors be customized on the Surface?  The problem I have with iOS7 is that they use bright clashing colors but they can not be adjusted.  I have a Windows 8 computer as one of my office systems and I really like the new OS.  The flat design does not bother me (though I would prefer something nicer), it is just the clashing color scheme.

On the Surface email app, is there the option under POP3 to leave a copy of the message on the server?  That is what is missing on the Win8 phone.
