Outlook.com Calendar cannot be added to iCal

Hello,

I have a Macbook and want to use my Outlook.com account on iCal.   I would like to use this as my primary calendar to add all events and invite attendees so that it is in the Outlook.com cloud.   I cannot seem to add it using the Mac preferences.  Please help.

Hey!

Choose Exchange and when it asks Username its your email address. Then it asks Internal Server and External Server so those are both outlook.office365.com. Worked for me.

    Outlook.com now support IMAP for email sync!

    The following are the settings:

    • Incoming IMAP mail server: imap-mail.outlook.com
    • Incoming IMAP mail server port: 993
    • Encryption: SSL SMTP
    • Outgoing SMTP mail server: smtp-mail.outlook.com
    • Outgoing SMTP mail server port: 587
    • Encryption: TLS

    I still haven't found any solution for syncing with iCal...

    Oh my gosh , what a thread ...i was looking for a solution about this prob and i found this... wake up Microsoft ...there are other competitors around you ...dammit ..caldav webdav.... is that new for you ?

    Outlook.com does not support CalDAV, WebDAV och CardDAV unfortunately, not IMAP for mail either. I'm hesitant they ever will.

    That's a pity.  In this day and age, where BYOD is becoming more popular, support for such standards is becoming a must.  We have one staff member who has a MacBook Air and she can't use our charity's hotmail calendar for shared scheduling. To date, we haven't successfully convinced her to go to the calendar with her browser and to enter her work related appointments directly.  Maybe we should just tell her rather than ask her.
