Exchange ActiveSync won't sync contacts on Android

Hi,

I've been having a problem with Exchange ActiveSync on my Android phone. Calendar and E-mails sync fine without any problems. However, my contacts won't sync properly. My contacts sync the first time I set up my account on my phone using Exchange ActiveSync but afterwards if I make any changes or add new contacts on my phone then it won't sync to Outlook.com. The same situation arises if I modify or create a new contact on the web at Outlook.com; I don't see these changes being synced to my phone. 2-way syncing is not working for my contacts.

I have removed and re-added my Outlook account on my phone multiple times but the problem persists. I am using a Nexus 4, running the latest version of Android Jelly Bean 4.2.1

Can you please fix this?? It is extremely annoying and inconvenient. I don't want to use the Hotmail or Outlook apps since they are very limited in functionality and a big battery drain on the phone.

Thanks.

I started this post on January 30, 2013 to resolve this issue. 4 months later it is still not resolved. At this point I am completely fed up with the lack of resolution.

I am no longer allowing any of your support specialists access to my account. Can you please respond with a link so I can reset my password. I repeat, I DO NOT want anyone accessing my account anymore. I am revoking all privileges to my account. Please respond to let me know you are complying with my request and send me a password reset link.

Lol at this guy getting mad over his FREE service that Microsoft offers.

Go find the password reset link yourself.  You're not special nor are you a snowflake

    Welcome to the internet

Wow, that was really fast. I am impressed. You managed to fix my problem. I didn't have to do anything and it is syncing again in both ways.

But I also noticed, that you have probably deleted some index or cache, so my phone just downloaded the whole contacts database from outlook.com again, which overrode my new contacts (and some changes), that were entered on the phone and not yet synced. I really hope this is the last time this problem accured, because I cannot pay attention all the time, if the contacts are syncing correctly in the background. I just like to edit my contacts when I'm on the road... that's the reason why I do not like to use Outlook.com App (there you cannot edit contacts).

Otherwise, my phone is updated and with no special costumizatons.

    Kernel version: 3.4.0-g5b052b2-00814-g976ab37 BuildUser@BuildHost ) ) #1 SMP PREEMPT Wed Apr 17 12:43:13 2013

    Thank you and best regards.

    Hi Packov,

I would like to inform you that our support specialist made an adjustment to your account. Let us know if it fixed the issue. If not, we advise that you remove/re-add the account for the changes to take effect.

If reconfiguring the account didn't work, try using the official Outlook.com app and see if the same issue will occur. You may also sign in a different account to your device to isolate the problem. Moreover, could you tell us the Kernel version of your device? Are all the updates installed on it? Is your device rooted? The answers will help us to continue investigating your issue.

We are looking forward to your response.

    Thank you.

    Hi,

I have the same problem here on my brand new Sony Xperia T (LT30p) Android 4.1.2. I am using my personal Windows Live Domains e-mail account (******@pacek.si) set via EAS. Everything works for a few weeks and then suddenly stops synchronizing contacts (mail and calendar sync is working) with outlook.com. Sadly, I cannot find any logs on the phone regarding this. When this happens I can remove the account from the phone and re-add it again. Everything will work for a few weeks and then the problem reappears at some point.

At the moment I really wouldn’t like to remove the account anymore, because I have made lots of changes to my contacts on this account on the phone (which haven’t been synced to outlook.com yet) and I really wouldn’t like to lose them.

I can confirm I have working sync with Outlook 2013 on my home computer and also with the one in the office. Everything is in sync with outlook.com, only my phone’s not.

    Thank you for your help.
