Why Does Outlook automatically log me in without my email address and password?

Hi there,

Why does Outlook automatically log me into my Email without me having to type my email address or password?  When I turn my computer on, I go to my Desktop and click on the Outlook icon to open up my email.  It is logging me into that email without me even having to enter my password information, and quite frankly, I find this very unsettling. This means that anyone who uses my computer once it is turned on, can access my email without my permission. How can I correct this so Outlook asks me to enter my email address and password each time I want to log into my email?  Thanks.

Annette Sullivan

Please check your saved passwords if your Microsoft account is saved on Microsoft Edge and Google Chrome. To access the saved passwords on Microsoft Edge, follow these steps:

    1. On the upper right part of Microsoft Edge, click the "three dots" icon.
    2. Select Settings.
    3. Scroll down to the bottom, and then select View advanced settings.
    4. Under Privacy and services, look for Offer to save passwords.
    5. Under Offer to save passwords, click Manage my saved passwords.
    6. Check if your Microsoft account credential is listed. If it's listed, delete it.
    7. Check if Outlook.com will automatically sign in your Microsoft account.

    Kindly share us the result.

I think this is because you are using that same account as your Windows 10 login. Windows 10 knows you're logged in and so doesn't require you to reenter your credentials when you visit the web site. You've already entered the credentials when you logged into Windows.

That is very likely. Is there any way to stop that?
