Some sent emails are stuck in OUtbox of Outlook.com android mobile app

I just found out why I haven't getting replies to some of my emails:  many of my sent emails over the past few weeks are sitting in my Outbox.  This would be in my Outlook.com mobile app on android.  I see no way to get them out of the outbox and sent.  not syncing or any other option available.  I am getting a message that I haven't been connected in a while, but that doesn't explain why I keep getting emails in my Inbox, and why only some emails don't get sent, and some emails are still in the outbox that are over two weeks old.

What should I do?  This is incredibly bad, if you think about it.   Do I move off of the Hotmail platform because it is proving to be unreliable?

I think I found the answer for my Droid.  The messages that pile up in the outbox are the ones that required a download of some attachment (photo, text, doc, etc) prior to sending.  If I forced the email in my inbox to fully load prior to forwarding or replying it sent just fine.  If it said that an attachment will be downloaded prior to sending it failed.

Hope that helps.

    Hi Troy,

I apologize for the delayed response and appreciate your patience.

In order to isolate the issue, I suggest you to log into your account from web mail like Internet Explorer on a computer and check if the e-mails are stuck in the Drafts folder. If no e-mails are in the drafts folder, check the sent folders if the e-mails are present. If the e-mails are in the sent folder, then your e-mails have been delivered and the problem lies with the Outlook.com app on Android. You can uninstall and re-install the app from the phone and check.

Please reply to us with the results so that we can assist you further.

    Hi Ken,

I'm having the same problem, I tried the work-around, deleting 4 of my oldest emails in my outbox, as the point was missed by now anyway.

    Still nothing.

    • Account in question. - creative_******@hotmail.com
    • Version of your device operating system. Andriod 4.4.2
    • Outlook.com app version. version 7.8.2.12
    • Do the same issue happens when you configured your account to another Android device (Outlook.com app)?
    • When I use this hotmail account on my desktop computer, I can see emails in my inbox, but only some (say 1 in 10) that are coming through to my phone.
    • also when I've deleted emails on my phone, they remain un-deleted when I look on my desktop, a day later.
    • and I have the problem of no messages being sent, they just sit in my outbox.

I'd rather not reinstall the app, as that would mean loosing emails in my outbox from christmas that I'd like to send still.

PS: Where am I supposed to see/find these options?
