Some sent emails are stuck in OUtbox of Outlook.com android mobile app

I just found out why I haven't getting replies to some of my emails:  many of my sent emails over the past few weeks are sitting in my Outbox.  This would be in my Outlook.com mobile app on android.  I see no way to get them out of the outbox and sent.  not syncing or any other option available.  I am getting a message that I haven't been connected in a while, but that doesn't explain why I keep getting emails in my Inbox, and why only some emails don't get sent, and some emails are still in the outbox that are over two weeks old.

What should I do?  This is incredibly bad, if you think about it.   Do I move off of the Hotmail platform because it is proving to be unreliable?

I think I found the answer for my Droid.  The messages that pile up in the outbox are the ones that required a download of some attachment (photo, text, doc, etc) prior to sending.  If I forced the email in my inbox to fully load prior to forwarding or replying it sent just fine.  If it said that an attachment will be downloaded prior to sending it failed.

Hope that helps.

No, uninstalling/re-installing the App does NOT fix the underlying problem - as other 'customers' have pointed out.

As customers we are (at Microsoft's request) providing feedback that enables Microsoft to improve it's products.

All we 'customers' need, is that forum moderators and other employees of Microsoft, take note, act and resolve this problem as soon as is possible - rather than continually deny, blame customers, or ask us to uninstall/re-install the app.

    Hi Ken_Rey_C,

Thank you for responding. Please also see my first response, which at least solves my problem for the time being (and hopefully does for others as well). But it does not resolve the underlying problem, which appears to be a bug with the app itself.

Anyway, to be thorough and answer your questions about my config:

    • I have more than one account linked to the app, but the specific problem is with the main account - ******@yyy.zz (dummied out)
    • Device operating system: Android version 4.4.4 on 3 Google Nexus devices (1 exhibiting this issue, 2 not) and version 4.4.2 on a Samsung Galaxy S5 that is exhibiting this problem
    • Outlook app version 7.8.2.12 on all devices
    • It has occurred on two out of four devices, all identically configured, same app and O/S versions.

BUT THE PROBLEM (and interim fix!!!) HAVE ALREADY BEEN IDENTIFIED TO YOU BY OTHER USERS UPTHREAD. AND THE PROBLEM IS A BUG WITH THE APP.

See my post above for the interim workaround.

    Good luck to all.

    Hi,

Thank you for bringing the issue to our attention. I can understand your frustration on this. We'll gladly help resolve your issue with stuck emails.

Since you've mentioned that everything works fine on your Google Nexus tablet, we can then conclude that this is not an account-related issue. It is possible that you are experiencing this issue due to incorrect configuration.

Please confirm if you already tried to reconfigure (remove/re-add) your account to your Android phone. You may need to contact the manufacturer of your  Android phone for instructions on how to remove your account the said mobile device and refer to the article provided by Mary Grace A. on how to add it again.

Please let us know how you get on. This would help us facilitate our next actions. We'd love to hear from you again.

    Regards,

    Jeffrey

Same issues here. I've 'chatted' to Microsoft tech help several times and always told to uninstall/re-install the app. This does work for a few days and then it's the same fault.

Outlook for Android clearly has a problem and as yet can't, or is unwilling to fix it.

My Note 3 has been syncing folders for 25 minutes now and nothing. Even after doing a reset/purge.
