Outlook.com Calendar birthdays sync issue

Such a calendar is really useless!

Windows 10 is out. Sync Issue is still there. Realy a shame. I'll use the Feedback app and report a problem with a link to this topic. You all should do the same (or up vote if you find a feedback for this).

over 1 year has passed now since first posting for this issue...

...and still no solution so far?? come one, this can't be serious!

as so many people already posted, birthdays still disappear

• single outlook.com contatcs (not connected with skype)
• single skype contacts (not connected with outlook.com)
• connected contacts (only have outlook.com and skype)

just tried to delete the birthday calendar und recreate it from scratch - no success...

wanna have some examples? please let me know...

I agree it is regreatful that no solution has been provided after all this time. This thread may have started about one year and an half ago, but the issue with birthday calendar is older than that...

Unfortunately, deleting the birthday calendar is not a solution. I have tried that myself many times (I even waited more than a week before re-creating the birthday calendar - it was suggested by someone that it would take some time to "sync the delete" into MS servers), always without success. In fact, I also reported here as well as through outlook.com feedback forms that this is one of the main problems with the birthday calendar: there is no way of truly resetting and re-creating it from scratch. The feature provided currently is merely deleting the option of showing the calendar, which actually "survives" with all its glitches (i.e. missing birthdays) into MS servers. Once you recreate it, you get back the old and compromised calendar. I have posted here, and again directly through outlook.com feedback forms, proof of this. Regrettably, to no avail.

This feature alone (i.e. a proper calendar reset) would solve many of the current problems with missing birthdays, I suspect. Then, of course, they would need to modify - or better re-script from scratch, the contact-birthday engine, in order to avoid more birthdays going missing and thus the necessity to reset the calendar periodically.

I really have no explanation on why a software giant like MS with probably tens of thousands of programmers and advertising to empower people to do more can not devote a handful of employees to a task as simple as to repair a birthday calendar. The only explanation I came up is that they are not aware of the issue because this outlook.com forum is not linked to someone who has to make decisions, but it is only a troubleshooting forum for known tasks aimed to basic users problems. This could explain why this 157-posts-thread and a plenty of others reporting on the same issue over a 20 months period have been completely worthless to get a solution. This led me to think that if and when the solution to the birthday calendar issues comes, it will not be because of our posts here, but rather because MS will revamp it's contact-calendar engine for whatever other reason, incidentally making the birthday calendar a reliable service. My hopes were that this scenario would happen with the up-coming Windows 10 and Cortana integration. Apparently I was wrong and we will need to wait more.

Meanwhile, marking down important birthdays with pencil and paper or perhaps making use of some of some of the competing platform services offerings might be the among the best solutions in order to not miss birthdays dates.

Thanks for posting the FB API change here. New entries might be related to this issue.

But non of my contacts is linked to FB. Nevertheless I have this error. As mentioned many, many times in this thread: the problem occours randomly on any contact, regardless if it has liked accounts or not.
