Today, we are releasing Office Insider. Office insider allows you, the consumer, to get early access to the latest Office innovations.

What is the Office Insider program?

The OfficeInsider program is an ongoing preview program for consumer Office subscribers (Office 365 Home, Office 365 Personal and Office 365 University) that gives you first access to the latest Office features and experiences – putting you on the inside track for all things Office.

How can I become an Office Insider?

    Hi Teylyn,

OK, I'm getting the insider build on my laptop, but I don't get it on an Azure VM. Both have Windows 10 and both run the same E3 license.  When I run the Office Deployment Tool with the adjusted xml file it tells me I don't have an internet connection, or the disk is full, none of which is true.

What is the differentiating factor? On my laptop I had the technical preview, and that moved on to build 16.0.6228.1010 without any active intervention from my side.

If that build 16.0.6228.1010 is somehow required for the insider builds, how can I get that build on a new VM?

Also, since I am running the Insider build, why don't I have the Insider badge? I work on many different computers and log on to this forum from any combination of Win XP/7/8.1/10 with Office ranging from 2003/2010/2013/2016 standalone/365.

What determines the badge to display?
