Microsoft Teams on macbook - external microphone stops working during a call only when I switch to another app.

Hello,

I have an issue after updating to the last version of Microsoft Teams (Version 24231.509.3122.5539) for Mac OS.

I'm ever using a Focusrite 2i2 as an external soundcard for my Rode microphone.

When a Teams call starting everyting is ok.

But if I switch to another app during the call, after some second, the microphone stops working.

This happens only in Teams.

I've tried to open the audio input control panel to see if the signal of the microphone still working, and... it works.

I see the input signal but the other person in call can't hear me.

To fix this, I have to switch back to Teams Call and open the microphone menu. After one seconds it start to works again.

It works only when the microphone menu is open.

But when I switch again to another app, it stops working.

If I use the Macbook pro built in microphone I have no problem.

This happens only with Teams. If I use another app like Zoom, I don't have problems.

I've tried to restart my macbook pro without success.

I've tried to reinstall Microsoft Teams without success.

Mac OS Sequoia 15.0

Best Regards

Roberto

I can report a successful Teams call after upgrading to MacOS 15.2 using my Yeti microphone in my Teams meeting today. No having to babysit the microphone menu! Yay! I'm glad this situation appears to be resolved with many of us after upgrading to MacOS 15.2. Hopefully we'll see more successful reports.

I upgraded to 15.2 as well and I can report that I did not lose audio in Teams with my Samson Q9U. It seems to be resolved which is a huge relief!!!

Tested my Logitech Yeti after upgrading to MacOS 15.2 and issue is resolved. Tested a few calls via MS Teams. However seeing the feedback, maybe specific brands remains unresolved. So it would help going forward if it has resolved/not resolved your issues, do state the brand of your microphone here. Thanks!
