Why is my "Notify when available" missing when I click on a user in Teams?

This is what is missing from a user we support.

Hello WilliamHicks6,

The Notify when available feature is not available in the new Teams. Currently, you will need to select a user’s avatar or profile photo anywhere in new Teams to quickly get an overview of their online status, next available calendar slot in Outlook, work hours, local time, or work location either remote or in office.

Thanks,

Why on earth would MS get rid of a greatly helpful feature like "notify when available"? Oh, I forgot. It's Microsoft.

    Good point.

Agreed completely. I often flag myself BRB, so that my coworkers know I'm away and not just ignoring them - I'll be right back. I will set the status messaging in conjunction with Appear Away, if I leave for an errand or lunch, which isn't necessarily on my calendar. I assume others might do the same, so if I can be notified when they return, it's to my advantage.

So, when I see someone away, I choose "Notify When Available." I leave my manager on Notify When Available so that I can catch him when he goes green as he is a busy, busy fellow. He's on the phone a lot and then Teams shows him Busy, although there may not be anything on his calendar. It's so helpful to have this option.

Check if you have this toggle in your Teams version:

if you have it, just toggle it to go back to the old teams

Hi, just got a request from Teams to provide feedback.

I have not missed the chance to complaint about this baffling missing feature in new Teams:

I'm happy in general with the new Teams, except for the missing feature "notify when available", which has been removed from the new version.

I have checked MS community, and the suggestion to have this feature is getting back to the old version, which makes not absolute sense to me.

There is a cry in the community asking this feature to be in new Teams. Please listen!
