"Notify when available" missing

Why is my "Notify when available" missing when I click on a user in Teams?

This is what is missing from a user we support.

Hello WilliamHicks6,

The Notify when available feature is not available in the new Teams. Currently, you will need to select a user’s avatar or profile photo anywhere in new Teams to quickly get an overview of their online status, next available calendar slot in Outlook, work hours, local time, or work location either remote or in office.

    Checking in from Feb 19 2024, notify when available still doesn't appear to be here in new Teams.

    Between this and all the functionality that's been removed from new Outlook it's like every day I'm discovering another important piece of my daily workflow has been thrown out.

    And the only workaround is to just babysit the user's status all day?

    That's literally the point of having notify when available, so we don't have to do that.

    I hope this is temporary as this doesn't account for when people are "Away". We're living in a world where we may use teams to communicate with someone, we would have typically just turned around to talk to. We no longer can see when that person "returns to their desk". There are a number of reasons they could be away that are not covered by "next available calendar slot".

    I would recommend Microsoft then design a feature to disable this notification on the counterparty side (just like you can mask when you view an IM). This can't be that hard. This is/was an extremely convenient feature that avoids the need to be rude by interrupting someone's meeting /call. Come one Microsoft!!!

    Yea, "Privacy" at work? You are HIRED and PAID to be available for people that need you in the workplace. I feel sorry for those that depend on you!

    If you don't want to allow that kind of access to your obviously huge intellect, then run your own company from some basement bunker somewhere...
