Keeps asking for Phone Permissions to join meetings

On Android, all of a sudden, Teams repeatedly says, "Teams Needs Permission" "If you want to place a call or join a meeting, go to settings and allow Phone permission to Teams."

It then takes you to Android Settings for the Teams app, and the "phone" permission IS allowed.

I've rebooted.

Cleared cache.

Cleared data

Reset the database.

Left developer preview.

Reinstalled Teams

Left the Beta and done all of the above over and over.

It isn't honoring the permissions that are set. So I can't join any meetings. Please advise.

The root cause of this issue is the bug in newer version of Ms Teams which Ms Teams Beta and you are part of the Beta program.

To resolve this instantly you need remove yourself or disjoin yourself from this Beta testing program and below are the steps how to disjoin from the Beta program

    1. Uninstall all instant of Microsoft Teams app from your device
    2. Go To Appstore/Playstore
    3. Search for Microsoft Teams (BETA) and click on it
    4. Now wait read everything, you will see it says you are part of Beta program, --> scroll down you will something like "Remove Me from Beta" click on it and then it will say removing you from Beta (this will take a good 5 to 10mins) try restarting your phone
    5. Again go to Appstore/Playstore and search for Microsoft Teams (now you will not see BETA)
    6. Install this version of Microsoft teams (without Beta) and you are done
    7. Try calling and it should all work successfully

Note :- if you are using Intune Company portal, after you do step 4 that is removing me from Beta then you just deregister your phone from intune, uninstall the company portal app and then reinstall the company portal app, register your phone and then continue from Step 5

This exactly what I've been doing. You cannot start a meeting or join from the calendar.

If someone starts a meeting, and you get the "meeting has been started" notification, you can join from the notification and click cancel on the needs permission warning.
