Why is MS Teams jumping to a different chat than the one I chose to be in?

When I'm in a MS Teams chat with someone, it just jumps to another chat without notice. It happens when I'm not clicking on anything.

This is the version I have:

Version

You have Microsoft Teams version 24124.2315.2911.3357.

You've got the latest version. It was last checked on 14/06/2024.

The client version is 49/24050307617.

This exact thing happened to me the other day, thought I was messaging the IT team when I was messaging a client!

    Embarrassing

I second this. In fact, I have unknowingly sent messages to the wrong chat because of this bug...I think I'm replying in the same chat, but in fact it's a different one. As a result, I have to clean it up ("opps sorry wrong chat, delete the message, etc.)

Same issue here since forced migration to the 'new' Teams.
