Why is MS Teams jumping to a different chat than the one I chose to be in?

It seems when I try signing in to that community that I have to justify to my workplace why I need 'this app'. I wasn't aware it required an app. Seems I may have to leave it for someone else to publish my issue there. As evidenced by all the replies, this is a common issue/problem/flaw that many people are experiencing.

Microsoft, do you have any updates for us? This bug has been around for the last few months, so something changed in recent versions. The focus should never change to another chat, when you're in one and typing a message. As so many others have stated, this is a privacy/security risk, especially when communicating with customers all day. Wrong message to the wrong thread, could cost someone their job.

I'm experiencing the same thing...it doesn't happen every time...when it does:

1. Navigate to a 1:1 or group chat
2. Hover over message from a participant other than yourself, choose emoji such as thumbs-up

Behavior: it jumps to another chat.

Same issue. I'm not pressing anything and Teams jumps from one chat to another one, randomly.

Thanks for checking in again. It seems I may not have access to change those settings, as I have nothing for 'General' or 'Disable hardware acceleration'.

I'll see how things go for 2 or 3 weeks and take it from there.
