Live gesture animations

today in a meeting on teams, someone accidentally put their thumb up and on my screen, an animated thumbs-up popped up. it was in a blue chat bubble and the thumbs-up was white so it wasn't like the normal thumbs-up. also during that meeting, the person moved and an animation of fireworks popped up behind them. They could not see these animations but everyone else in the meeting could. They took the meeting on their iPhone. Could anyone point me in the direction to get more info about these animations?

    So I already got the hang of

    1. one thumbs up - thumb up appears in an bubble
    2. two thumbs up - fireworks

    And then today I made balloons appear by accident, but couldn't work out how that happened. What do you do to make balloons appear and where is the official guidance on this?

    Sure, I can help you with that. The animated thumbs-up and fireworks animation that you saw are live reactions in Microsoft Teams. Live reactions are a way to express yourself in meetings without interrupting the flow of conversation. You can use them to show your approval, excitement, or other emotions.

    To use live reactions, you need to be using the latest version of Microsoft Teams on your mobile device. Once you're in a meeting, tap the React button in the meeting controls. A list of live reactions will appear. Tap the reaction you want to use, and it will pop up momentarily across your live video feed, or if your camera is turned off, across your profile picture.

    To enable live reactions in Microsoft Teams, you can do the following:

    In a meeting:

    Click the Meeting controls button.

    Click the React button.

    Select the Allow reactions check box.

    In the Teams admin center:

    Go to Meetings > Meeting policies.

    Select the policy that you want to edit.

    Scroll to the Meeting engagement section.

    Select the On or Off radio button for Reactions.

    Click Save.

    If you're using a mobile device, you can also enable live reactions in the Teams app settings. To do this, open the Teams app and go to Settings > General > Meetings. Under Live reactions, select the On or Off radio button.
