Teams for Android does not work with Bluetooth.

Teams will not recognise Bluetooth headphones when joining calls.

I have tried restarting, clearing cache, clearing storage and reinstalling. I have tried multiple different models of headphones from completely different manufacturers. I have tried different phones.

This is not a user issue. This is an issue with the application. Several posts have been made.

Please fix it.

EDIT: the 'Nearby Devices' permission will fix this issue in most cases. For me, it worked temporarily (for one call) and then reverted to the same issue. However, the issue does now seem to be fixed - I have had consistent success for about 2 months now. I am assuming that a recent update to the app has fixed an issue that was causing this.

Hi Chris,

I had the same problem, and I noticed it was because of the permission setting of TEAMS.

I reinstalled Teams and accepted the "Nearby devices." access and it works now.

My problem is slightly different. Any time I start a meeting the Bluetooth option is not available in Teams, even though my Airpods are connected to the phone. I then need to go into Bluetooth settings, Disconnect the Airpods and then Re-connect, then go back to Teams and then the Bluetooth audio option is available. I need to do this every time I start a meeting. Every. Time.

My airpods work fine with every other App.

My Nearby Devices permission is on.

    Anyone else have this issue?

I've tried the nearby permissions thing, including reinstalling teams and setting permissions again. It works occasionally, but not reliably. Currently i am unable to join any meetings with bluetooth devices connected.

I just fixed the issue on my phone by enabling app permissions to "nearby devices".
