How do I stop teams from turning my headset volume up to 100% in the "App volume and device preferences" before each call?

The title says it all. The only way to prevent my ear drums from bursting is:

  1. Join a call before anyone else
  2. open Settings
  3. search for "Sound mixer options" (which takes you to the "App volume and device preferences" screen)
  4. turn the teams volume down for my headset

This happens 100% of the time and it's absolutely ridiculous.

My workaround for quite some while is to limit max volume with EqualizerAPO and "PEACE".

I use my headset for business calls only, so this limitation may not work for everyone (plus: admin rights needed for setup)

I don't seem to be having the issue any more. Not sure if there has been a specific update, but im on

You have Microsoft Teams version 24193.1805.3040.8975. You've got the latest version. It was last checked on 16/08/2024.The client version is 49/24071128825.

I've also noticed I don't have a volume overlay show up at the bottom middle of the screen when a teams call came in.
