Mac Authentication Error Starting 8/7/2024

UPDATE: I was forced to clear my OS and start over. Recovering from Time Machine brought over too many support files even when being picky. I have re-installed Teams from an old installer in a previous Time Machine entry and I am able to log in. This may not last though. This was obviously extreme and I hope you all do not have to do the same.

Teams for Mac recently updated and totally broke the functionality of Teams. I do not have connectivity to my work account at all. I had deleted all Teams file on 8/8 and reinstalled the Teams Classic which worked well. I came back to my computer later that afternoon and the new Teams had reinstalled itself. I went out of office until today and I have a repear error of "We couldn't authenticate you. This could be due to a device or network problem, or Teams could be experiencing a technical issue."

This is a Teams technical issue due to the repetitive error and my ability to sign in via iOS and web with the same credtentials on the same network, and in once case, the same machine.

Teams version 24193.1708.3043.1759

Client version 50/24071128823

Same here as all of the above.

Even went through and cleaned several MS Teams cache locations, plus the reinstall.

Works for a few hours then problem returns.

I'm having the exact same issues with Teams being unable to authenticate. It seems to have started when I upgraded MacOS to v14.6. OneDrive is having a similar issue. All other applications working fine on Mac. I'm also able to use the web version of Teams just fine as well as the iOS version. This seems to be a Mac only issue.

I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling Teams as well as all of the M365 applications. It worked for a day or so and then started having the same problem again.

I have the same issue - also impacts Teams and OneDrive. Other applications work fine. I can login online just fine as well.

Good day and thanks for contacting Microsoft community support.

Based on the information provided, the issues you are encountering with Teams for Mac appear to stem from recent updates that are interfering with authentication and connectivity to your work account. This kind of problem is not uncommon following updates. However, we need more information on the issue to better assist you.

    1. Are you able to access your work account on other devices, such as iOS or web, without any issues?

    3. Are you experiencing any issues with other Microsoft services or applications, or is it isolated to Teams?
    4. Have you tried resetting or reinstalling MS Teams on your Mac?
