Additional meeting and call-related features and issues within Microsoft Teams for Education
We bought a few Stream Decks for staff to evaluate for TEAMS meetings. none of them work for TEAMS.
Works great for Powerpoint and ZOOM though!

I have a problem with Teams (365 Enterprise A5 license, Teams version 1.6.00.9379, latest update available). After starting up, the buttons on my Stream Deck + (software 6.1.0.18521, firmware 2.0.3.2) are the same Teams logo with a small red lock on them (but with the custom text tag which I set for each button).
-update-
The procedure below doesn't work anymore. :(
To get the correct icons on the buttons I have to:
-Start a Teams meeting/call, at least one participant has to answer;
However, when a meeting/call is started and the buttons show the correct icons and change to colored, none of these buttons do anything when pressed. But when using mute or disable camera from within the Teams desktop app, the status on the buttons on the Stream Deck do change instantly according to the status in Teams.
It doesn't matter if Microsoft Teams is started at Windows startup or if you start Microsoft Teams after the Stream Deck software is loaded and active. Tested with both normal and developer/public preview mode.
Note:
I'm not affiliated with neither Microsoft nor Elgato.

Yeah, that's one of the many things that are wrong with the latest versions of Microsoft Teams. Once in Developer Preview mode, you're unable to switch back to the Public mode. When switching off Developer Preview mode, Teams pretends to restart, the option for Developer Preview is gone but after 30 seconds the Developer Mode reappears in the menu and the tick mark is back on.
Meanwhile the API is very instable, even my own test application suffers from connection/communication failures. Made me sell my Stream Deck+ since it is useless for Microsoft Teams.
Hello,
I'm experiencing the same issue. Started after I tried the preview of a new Teams version.
I would appreciate a quick fix because the integration between Teams and Stream Deck is very useful.
Thanks,
Lukas
Doing some more research showed there are two causes for improper functioning of the Elgato Stream Deck buttons.
To solve this, save/export your currect profile (if you have set up any), remove the Elgato application, restart the computer (important step because of the background services being removed). After restarten the computer re-install the Elgato app. Quit the application after installation or even better, restart the computer again. After restarting the computer, start the Elgato application and import your previously saved profile or create an new profile. Check your Teams API GUID code. 2. Microsoft Teams sometimes lacks the part of using the API after an update. The option to enable or disable the API in the Privacy settings is gone.
To solve this, close the Teams application, make sure you quit the application from the system tray and not leaving it active in the background. Wait 30 seconds to finish all processes. Restart Microsoft Teams, wait for about 30 seconds and check if the API GUID is visible/available and if it matches the settings in the Elgato application.
Sometime the Elgato background service changes the icons on the Stream Deck buttons at the moment a Teams call is made, untill then the icons show as a failed Teams connection with the Teams icon and a small lock. Tiy can force the correct icons by starting a new Temas call from your Teams Calendar and choose the button Meet Now. The correct icons then show on the buttons.
Hi Meener,
It seems to be a bug.
This issue needs to be further investigated by Microsoft product group. Unfortunately, as a community advisor (not Microsoft staff), I don't have access to the user's account, so it's difficult to further investigate this issue.
I would suggest submitting a feedback to the support engineer team of Microsoft so that they can include this in future releases.

You may also refer to the Q&A forum for further assistance on this issue as there are more administrators, along with members of the Teams product team, answering questions.

Thank you.
