New Teams: Camera Settings Gone

Hello

Under Teams Classic - there used to be a number of camera settings under Settings > Devices > Camera such as Zoom/Pan/Tilt. Those settings no longer appear, to my knowledge, in New Teams. Am I missing something or did this feature not carry over?

Also, the webcam I am using, a Poly P5, has local software installed but those zoom/pan/tilt settings have never carried over to Teams (Classic or New).

Any advice? Did this feature disappear forever or am I missing where it is?

I am also missing the zoom/pan functionality in New Teams. For the love of god I do not understand how is it possible to make new products that are worse than the previous versions. I don't think that people at Microsoft understand how development works. THE IDEA IS TO MAKE THE NEXT PRODUCT BETTER!!! I would think that it is obvious but clearly people at Microsoft have not figured this out yet. But since they have a monopoly there is not much a customer can do. I think it is time that we as a society should start talking about breaking Microsoft up to small companies like they have done with Standard Oil back in the day. We need to bring competition back otherwise we will end up with this moneygrabbing behemoth that is slowing us all down.

Install FFMPEG and follow these instructions: https://www.addictivetips.com/windows-tips/access-advanced-settings-for-the-integrated-webcam-on-windows-10/

basically, from the bin folder in ffmpeg, just run the following command from cmd:

    ffmpeg -f dshow -show_video_device_dialog true -i video="NAME-OF-WEBCAM"

Set up a bat file so that you can run the command from a shortcut, and then it is always just a double click away!

Very basic stuff. Why remove something that is an essential requirement for some users? Anything that Microsoft touches eventually turns to rubbish. Not everyone has the option of using external controls. Taking away something so basic as camera controls just shows how little Microsoft is paying attention to user requirements. I'd be back on Zoom immediately if Teams weren't mandated by our IT policy.

I think the software Logi Tune (or maybe it was Logitech capture) might be able to help you out. If I remember correctly, you can adjust your camera settings with it and in the MS Teams device options select "Logi Tune" instead of your actual camera. Should carry over the adjustments you made.

Same story. New Teams DOES NOT respect the previous Teams settings allowing you to control the camera -- in particular Zoom. WHY does Microsoft inevitably stuff things up every time they release a new version of something. Who asked for this change? Surely no one who has been using the previous version.

    PUT THOSE FEATURES BACK!
