Why is the "NEW" Teams so horrible??

I was just pushed into NEW Teams. So far I cannot say anything positive about it and based on how I used Classic version - this version seems of no use to me. One of the features was notification when a message came in which is no longer a function based on my experience and talking with some other team members. I do not LIVE on Teams which means it could be hours before I would go into Teams and only then will I see a message. No longer a team tool for me. Someone suggested I carry my phone with me along with my laptop and when a message is sent I can check my phone and then go to my laptop to read - REALLY? Understand that as of March 2024 we will no longer have a choice between Classic and NEW.

What am I missing?

Seven pages of complaints about the "new" and improved Teams. Tells you something about the Teams upgrade. Me, I'm relatively new to Teams and found the original much more intuitive than the new version. Glad I could go back to it. Unfortunately, that one will eventually go away and we'll all have to adopt Microsoft's version of how we should be doing things. Not that they ever asked me what I needed.

I've also had issues with the new teams, first on the new teams, all my channels and chats disappeared, I could only talk to myself, haha.

Then over the weekend and into today I'd gone back to the new teams because I was able to reset it and my chats/teams were all back:

However today I noticed that I no longer got notification sounds on my teams app, either the mobile app or from the "New Teams". I switched back to "old teams", and lo and behold, notification sounds worked again.

Sticking with the old teams app, that works well, until the new one works.

Just as a side note, the windows interface overall is getting worse and worse. Having control panel in addition to 'settings' is annoying, it's tough to find anything anymore. What's going on over at Microsoft?

I've tried 'new' teams a couple of times and quickly switch back as I can't access my list of contacts from the chat tab at the top like I can on current teams. Microsoft keep changing things and moving things around. Why can't you just leave things where they are ?

I don't use it to connect to calls, etc. - All I know is the that new interface is MUCH harder to arrange things efficiently in. I can't pin channels I need to keep track of. I can't easily scroll the list panel of Teams I am in looking for bold items that mean I haven't read them.

Meanwhile, I changed back to the OLD Teams on one machine that I use to remote in, but that doesn't work because then it doesn't keep up with what I might've typed into or changed at another machine.

UGH. This is the absolute worst MS "update" of something I use that I've experienced in all my years in IT.
