Left & right arrow keys don't move the cursor (in teams)

ft and right arrow keys have no effect in TEAMS BUT left-arrow + CTRL moves left one word, and right-arrow + CTRL moves right one word. So it is clear the arrow keys on the keyboard are functioning and sending signals to the computer. I also tried my laptop built in keyboard & the number pad. All have the same effect. What could be making the arrows by themselves not work?  (Up and Down arrows work normally.)

1.      Is it a laptop or desktop computer?
Laptop 

2.      What is the make and model of the keyboard?
HP laptop keyboard & logitech external 

3.      Was it working fine earlier?
Yes at most an hour before

4.      Were there any recent changes made on the computer prior to the issue?
No. Maybe I inadvertently hit some hot key?

    I have the same issue, restart machine seems to be OK for a random period then the left and right arrow keys stop working, again. Strangely the arrow keys still work in any other application including Microsoft apps so its not system related just Teams App related. This started after the update to Teams allowing replies to messages in chat and use of up arrow to select edit of the last message in the chat window. Apart from that there have been no other significant changes to my machine.

    Hi, I am having the same issue. Quitting teams and restarting it fixes it for me. It happens randomly - every 1-2 weeks. Please resolve!

    Same issue here. UP and DOWN cursor keys act as HOME and END but LEFT and RIGHT don't function at all. Restarting app has no affect.

    As somebody mentioned holding Shift to highlight works fine. This has happened a few times but a rare occurrence all the same.

    [ EDIT ] Killing teams form Task Manager and restarting resolves the issue.

    I have the same issue, and how about hold 'ctrl' key? It works for me.

    I have never encountered this problem until just recently. Rebooting the app didn't resolve the issue but rebooting my system did. woot.

    The thing that I was doing prior to the problem occurring was trying/learning to type an accent mark over an 'i'. I'm on a mac that has very nice combinations of keystrokes to get achieve the special characters. In this case, option+'e', then 'i'. Nice.

    But before discovering the correct combination, I was sorta pounding out various guesses on my keyboard with no success. Lots of modifier key combinations. I was getting a lot of random behaviors! I still don't know exactly why this issue started happening though. I'm guessing I either turned something on (or off) or Teams just didn't like my keyboard mashing. I didn't notice any Accessibility features being on at the time either.

    Anyway, hope it helps.
