Left & right arrow keys don't move the cursor (in teams)

ft and right arrow keys have no effect in TEAMS BUT left-arrow + CTRL moves left one word, and right-arrow + CTRL moves right one word. So it is clear the arrow keys on the keyboard are functioning and sending signals to the computer. I also tried my laptop built in keyboard & the number pad. All have the same effect. What could be making the arrows by themselves not work?  (Up and Down arrows work normally.)

1.      Is it a laptop or desktop computer?
Laptop

2.      What is the make and model of the keyboard?
HP laptop keyboard & logitech external

3.      Was it working fine earlier?
Yes at most an hour before

4.      Were there any recent changes made on the computer prior to the issue?
No. Maybe I inadvertently hit some hot key?

I just had it on Mac again. And the workaround works. But, not all menus with "..." work, e.g. the settings next to the avatar icon does not work. So for me, the following worked:

    • Click on "..." (Messaging extensions) below the text field Image
    • When the popup opens, press "ESC"

It's really bad that this doesn't get fixed, but at least something.

THANK YOU. This certainly isn't ideal, but it works. It amazes me how Teams continues to keep getting worse and bugs don't seem to get addressed. It's like they don't have a QA team anymore... Oh wait...

It's late March 2022, this bug seems to be almost a year old? How about a fix?

    ...

Tab to move to the tools panel, activating the '...' item, then ESCaping, then shift-tab did restore L and R arrow functions.

    ...

This is it, thanks a lot. Hoping Microsoft will fix that issue!

It happens a lot and it's quite annoying.

My solution is using the Task Manager to terminate Microsoft Teams and relaunch it. It's much better than restart the whole computer.

    Hope it helps.

Yes this works for me too.

Press Tab, then click on "..." (from the tools bar below the text input box), Press ESC, then shift tab
