ft and right arrow keys have no effect in TEAMS BUT left-arrow + CTRL moves left one word, and right-arrow + CTRL moves right one word. So it is clear the arrow keys on the keyboard are functioning and sending signals to the computer. I also tried my laptop built in keyboard & the number pad. All have the same effect. What could be making the arrows by themselves not work? (Up and Down arrows work normally.)

The best workaround for this is to activate the menu next to the chat box:
and then close it again. This seems to re-enable the cursor key functionality.
I have no idea why someone would post that claim about scroll lock that is so easily testable and refutable.
It's because your 'SCRLK' (Scroll Lock) key is active. Pressing it once again will fix it.
No, that's false. Activating "Scroll Lock" does not impact the arrow keys functionality at all within the textbox in Teams, with or without Ctrl held in. When the arrow keys stop working, Ctrl+arrow does work while simply just using the arrow keys alone does not.
In a non-bugged Teams, activating "Scroll lock" does NOT make the arrow keys stop functioning, and neither should it.

You don't need to restart your PC. Restart Teams or tab to any '...' menu, open it and press Esc.
You also underestimate the amount of copium Microsoft managers have for anything Microsoft. They will downplay literally any error even if employees themselves complain about them. It's borderline like listening to an actually insane person.
With almost 1600 people just in this post alone (there are other post indicating same issue) and no fix, maybe its time to look at another platform? If proper key event handling isn't possible in a program primarily used for text messaging, its time to move on.
Why is this not fixed yet? Has anyone noticed the 1500 people that have clicked "I have the same question"? People, please stop talking about what keyboard you have. That has nothing to do with it. It's a bug in Teams - period.
