Bluetooth device keeps getting disconnected during Teams meetings

Hi,

I use the wireless JBL Endurance Sprint Headphones to connect to meetings on my Teams app on my work laptop.

This was working fine until a few days ago. But, from the past few days my headphones gets disconnected every few seconds.

This is terribly agonizing - I can't hear the audio and get tuned out from  the conversation. I need to turn on my headphones again every time it gets disconnected. I end up losing parts of the conversation and it gets extremely awkward frequently requesting the other person to repeat what they said.

I initially thought it might be my headphones, but it works really well with the same laptop on other applications. Works fine on other devices too.

I tried updating driver software for my Bluetooth device. Looks like it's up-to-date.

I have no idea how to fix this.

Similar questions had answers to uncheck the "Disable bluetooth device for power savings" under Power Management Tab ( Device Manager -> Bluetooth-> Adapter-> Properties). I don't see this tab anymore

Please help fix this ASAP.

I updated my Intel Wireless Bluetooth driver via Intel Driver Support Assistant to 22.30.0.4 (22.01.2021)

It seems that Microsoft Windows Update Service was unable to find the current version of the driver and left me with a completely outdated version from 2020 (!). Good job, Microsoft.

The release notes of Intel Wireless Bluetooth driver 22.30.0.4 (22.01.2021) look very promising. It seems Intel addressed the Microsoft Teams issue and released a fix: Discontinuity of audio during a Teams call can occur on some devices.

See https://downloadmirror.intel.com/30251/eng/ReleaseNotes_BT_22.30.0.pdf and https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/30251/Intel-Wireless-Bluetooth-for-Windows-10 for details.

This did not help me. I downloaded version 22.30.0.4 and installed. My headphones still disconnect after 15-ish minutes in a Teams call.

    Response from B&O:

“We are sorry to say here, but the Beoplay E8 is working as it should; on Windows 10 devices, Teams, Zoom, Skype, and few other apps suffer from a Bluetooth's mislabeling connection E8.

    This causes the headphones to trigger their standby mode after 15 min; the same issue is not present on Mac OS devices, and there's only one real workaround for this issue;

If you run Skype for Business on Android or Apple iOS, there is no issue; there is an issue with Skype for Business running on Windows 10 (caused by Microsoft OS).

It is a 3rd party connection status issue on which the ear- & headphones have no influence (Windows 10 issue).”

    Come on Microsoft......

B&O, as a contender in the top segment, should feel an obligation to do better than blaming Microsoft, so please someone get on the phone and deal with them. Somehow others have managed to, I have ZERO problems with my Bose QC35, Windows 10 and Teams. I dislike attending meetings with QC35s, which are intended for flights, but it's either that or using B&O with iPhone where viewing shared content is not as comfy as on my 24" screen.

Come on B&O, stop pointing fingers and take responsibility!!!

I tried this workaround. My BT speaker is Portronics Vibe. I kept the youtube volume at the lowest level while using the speaker for Teams call but eventually it leads to the speaker to hang. I can't even restart the speaker and I need to wait for several hours for the battery to drain. This is really annoying.
