MS Teams for mac unable to share desktop or other screens - app and online versions

In MS Teams , I cannot share my Desktop / Application Windows. Teams alerts me that it needs Screen Recording permissions, although I have actually granted these before, and the regarding boxes in System Preferences are already ticked.

I have the newest version of Catalina and Teams. Nevertheless I don´t know exactly which applications are blocking the Teams screen sharing and why., I have followed all suggestions such as using the online version, same issue occurs, removing VPNs and rebooting and updating apps and the mac itself......I use Teams constantly for work and this is causing me a major hassle!

Thanks

I've also recently had this problem, which coincided with upgrading to Mac OS Big Sur (quite late to the party!)

It's in the Mac privacy settings (which I misread below, sorry I'm tired!) teams and zoom are automatically switched off in this upgrade it seems. You need them checked for it to be enabled.

Please note: on a Mac you can only share Windows that reside on the same 'Space'. This means if you use multiple spaces (or multiple desktops as some people would call it) and use mission control to switch between them, you need to relocate the window you want to share to be on the same space as where Teams is.

Only then will Teams show that window in its list of windows to share.

exactly...this is the real answer and, at the same time, this is the real the gap with the Windows OS Version!!!!

    Hi Chris,

I'm writing to follow up on this thread. Have you checked workaround above?

    Best regards,

    Shyamal

hi there, I tried the suggested work arounds but nothing has changed, full screen or not and the reboot after unchecking screen sharing etc, i had temporary ability to share some powerpoint but nothing else and then this too disappeared....it's really frustrating as this is how I work day to day

    Thanks

    Chris

actually now it even asks for privacy permissions again, so back to the same original prblem
