Microsoft Teams Status - Desktop and Mobile

I have recently received Microsoft Teams access as part of my Office pack.

I noticed that with the mobile app logged in, the status is constantly showing "Available" even when i am not active.

This means anyone looking for me would believe that i am available.

Is there no way to set it to show as away or at least a separate status that states "mobile" when we are not active on the desktop App of teams?

It is highly annoying to have to amend the status manually.

I have the opposite problem... I use my phone and the desktop app and my desktop keeps showing me as away when I am at my desk and actively using the mobile phone and/or desktop.... I might be in a meeting and need to use phone or vice versa. I work from both devices all day and my desktop showing away makes it look like I am NOT available or working. I have to change status from mobile device to make desktop reflect correct status.. .so they have to be dependent on each other in some respect

Sorry for the confusion. the precedence of the status is the Outlook/Team Calendar then your device's status (Available is the has the high precedence unless you set manually your status). If your available in one device, it will show that you are online.

I agreed there's some number of discrepancies with the way the statuses work.

Teams is quite a persistent chat. Unfortunately setting your status to away and configure your quiet hours must be handle manually.

I have a vice-versa issue. I am showing Away as my mobile gets locked even though I am active on my desktop and worst part is manual change of status in desktop doesnt work. Only when I keep my phone active its showing available.

Updated the mobile and desktop Apps and issue remains

Hack that worked for me : Opened Teams in web on system and updated the status to available and it worked.

But @Microsoft need your help in fixing this issue.

It's a flawed App, like all Microsoft products that does not take Reality into account. This should not have to be adjusted a daily basis on every device. Login on/at work device - available. Teams on another device should be an alternate status

Unfortunately the status between desktop and mobile is not dependent to each other.
The status is based on your activity on each devices so you will be needing to update manually the statuses for both devices.

Teams will automatically set your status from Available to Away when the Teams app is in the background. On desktop and web, this will happen when you lock your computer or when it enters idle or sleep mode.

I have the opposite problem. My status shows away when logged in and active on my mobile device. How do I set them to synchronize?
