Hi Jesryl, I have an older Macbook Pro and the blur background was there and now on the later version, it's gone.  It worked just fine before MS removed it.  do you have any idea if they intend to give its feature back as it clearly has no impact on computer performance whatsoever and at this time more than most, it is very helpful to have this feature?  To take it away is ridiculous and unnecessary.

May be the issue as I have AVX.

Here's an article that explains the process to set custom backgrounds in Microsoft Teams. I tried the hack and it works

It may be your CPU, background blur requires AVX2, (Haswell or newer chip (2013) )

The blur function works just fine.

I am having the same problem. I have the most up-to-date version of Teams (windows 10 desktop app), and am using a new Lenovo X1 Carbon laptop. I can see the blur background option, but I do not see Background effects and the background images folder does not appear in my appdata location.  I tried to manually create the background and imports folders but this did not enable the background effects feature.

Does anyone know why this is happening to only some PCs/laptops? Has anyone been able to find a workaround for this issue?
