i am unable to get the background settings in microsoft teams

Dear Team ,

 I am using the latest Teams app in my windows 10 laptop. During the meeting for the video I am unable to get the background setting to select a background for my video. Request your help .

    I became frustrated enough with this problem only today, as my colleague who has the exact same MacBook Air from 2019 as I. She has the background effects but not me. 

    Here's what I did and now it works:

    1. I logged out of Teams and all Microsoft stuff.
    2. I googled "download Teams Mac" and landed on https://www.microsoft.com/en/microsoft-365/microsoft-teams/download-app
    3. I downloaded the Teams desktop app for Mac OS
    4. installed the app
    5. Now I could see the background effects as well as the "Backgrounds" and "Uploads" folders

    Here's what DID NOT work:

    In the Teams Desktop app, go to check for updates. It did update the app, but it didn't have the background effects. 

    I hope this can help Mac users to get the background effects in use.

    I had this issue where the Backgrounds folder wasnt available. It only became available ones i actually tried to set a background on my teams app. I have never done that before, but after i did the folder appeared in my AppData folder. Hopefully this helps!

    My problem is a little different. I used the custom background workaround and I can use my own images if I'm in my own organization hosting a call. But I cannot use my custom backgrounds if I am a guest in another organization's mtg invite...which is all the time. Does MS plan to make the custom background feature available for all mtg attendees, in or out of organization?

    I have looked at snapcamera's website, but what I don't see is how to get any such effect or image into Teams - do you have to have backgrounds working already in order to use this? My problem is no backgrounds show, only a white panel with nothing to choose in it - so frustrating!
