Loud Beeping when Muted in a MS Teams Call

When using my Aftershokz OpenComm during a call, I hear a loud beeping noise when I mute myself during the call. This beeping only goes away when I unmute. I've contacted Aftershokz, and they've assured me this is due to a recent MS Teams update causing connectivity issues.
I've also read other non-Microsoft forums and realize this is apparently an issue since 2021 with MS Teams and multiple brands of headphones/headsets. However, it only recently started for me today, April 18, 2022.
Is Microsoft doing anything to solve this issue? Is there a solution to this?
It seems to be making many users upset and frustrated. I'm surprised Microsoft hasn't addressed this yet.

2022-10-28T13:25:27+00:00 It is the same issue i have, beeps every 5 seconds when muted. And surely it came after an MS update. So i wonder how people got Aftershokz to send them a dongle for this issue, as my answer was that it is an hardware as-is- issue.

2022-10-28T13:14:42+00:00 Hmmm. I had a different issue, headphone beeped every 5-10 seconds when muted - but it was similar as it was due to an MS software update. I figured it was worth a shot.
