Loud Beeping when Muted in a MS Teams Call

When using my Aftershokz OpenComm during a call, I hear a loud beeping noise when I mute myself during the call. This beeping only goes away when I unmute. I've contacted Aftershokz, and they've assured me this is due to a recent MS Teams update causing connectivity issues.

I've also read other non-Microsoft forums and realize this is apparently an issue since 2021 with MS Teams and multiple brands of headphones/headsets. However, it only recently started for me today, April 18, 2022.

Is Microsoft doing anything to solve this issue? Is there a solution to this?

It seems to be making many users upset and frustrated. I'm surprised Microsoft hasn't addressed this yet.

This worked for me on Win10, but anytime I unmute and mute I have to go through the steps again. I wonder if this in development item will help. It at least will let us use the standard buttons.

I know that there shouldn't be one, but maybe a difference between the 32 and 64 bit builds?

I'm just really happy my ears are no longer being assaulted by that beeping.

Yesterday my corp pushed a bunch of updates to my machine, and I guess Teams was among the patches.

I'm now and version 1.5.00.12969 (32-bit). It was last updated on 6/7/2022 and no longer have the beeping.

Thank all the pink and blue hoolies!!!
