shokz headset beeping on mute during Teams meetings

After the latest Teams update a couple of weeks ago, my shokz headset started making a loud beep 2 times every 10 seconds when I am on mute. How can I stop this beep?

    so the fix I found was to disable the button sync.

    via '...' next to your profile pic -> settings -> Devices -> Sync device buttons downside: you cannot control the volume via the headset.

    Keep in mind that every time you hit Unmute and Mute in Teams, you’ll need to repeat this or else the beeping will come back.
