No sound when entering a Meeting on Teams

Hello,

I have observed on numerous occasions that when I enter a Meeting on the Microsoft Teams Windows app (with my Mic and Camera off, because it is university related and someone else is presenting) I can't hear anything. It doesn't happen all the time. I have tried entering the Meeting again and sometimes it works and I can hear. I have also opened the Volume mixer and that was not the issue (the Meeting was note muted). I even tried reinstalling the App. This only happens in a Meeting, not a private call with someone else and only on the Windows app, not the browser. I would like to use the App though, so does anyone know how I can solve this?

Thank you in advance!

Also got a similar issue up until a couple weeks ago I could join a call and have the sound come out of my headset and radio/spotify continue to play out of my wireless speaker.

Now when I join the call I have no sound of anything. If I change the settings I can get the call audio, but not the media audio through any device.

As soon as I leave the call, the media audio returns. Confused.

All I think this is due to a default option during recent updates:
https://learn-attachment.microsoft.com/api/attachments/8e0d73f1-47eb-4215-8d07-a45ba64620a0?platform=QnA Defaulted back to "Don't Use Audio" during join meeting pop-up

I can't seem to find this anywhere else, only during the join meeting steps- Must set back to your preferred audio device.

    Sound is working in windows.
Sound is working in Teams (notifications).
    NO sound in Teams calls.
I even see that there is sound in Microsoft Volume Mixer, the green line is moving.

I found the issue often occur after I answered a team call on my cell phone. Then, my laptop team will loose sound. Only solution is to reboot the laptop and rejoin the team. The sound will come back.

By the way, log-off and re-log in team does not help. And no setting changes will help. Only solution is to reboot.

Hi I don't know if this is answered for people but what worked for me was...

After clicking the link to join the meeting "Choose video and audio options" appeared

    Under "Computer Audio"

I went down to "Custom Set up" and selected the the little audio mixer bars on the right

Then I selected "Speakers" and I chose the correct speaker option in the pull down menu.

I closed the "Custom Set up" window and

I left the "mic" on and then muted the mic once I was in the meeting.

    Hope this helps!
