No sound when entering a Meeting on Teams

Hello,

I have observed on numerous occasions that when I enter a Meeting on the Microsoft Teams Windows app (with my Mic and Camera off, because it is university related and someone else is presenting) I can't hear anything. It doesn't happen all the time. I have tried entering the Meeting again and sometimes it works and I can hear. I have also opened the Volume mixer and that was not the issue (the Meeting was note muted). I even tried reinstalling the App. This only happens in a Meeting, not a private call with someone else and only on the Windows app, not the browser. I would like to use the App though, so does anyone know how I can solve this?

Thank you in advance!

This helped me find what worked for me - go into settings, select system, then sound, then manage sound devices. Then make sure your system speaker (mine is Realtek(R) Audio) is selected, click on it, hit test sound - you should note hear this sound - then click disable and then re-enable and test again. Worked for me twice now.

Again I think that's the issue EricF3_UB had/has, the original reported issue hasn't reoccurred at the company I work out for about 4 months now.

The original issue was Teams external meetings crashing out the audio driver of the device as opposed to no sound in Teams.

Sadly the company I work at wants to build company comms around this piece of software which has proved troublesome since it was brought out.

I recently encountered the same thing, which I was sent a Teams invite for a job interview. I had no previous only issues with any other Teams invite, but this happened at the worst time. During a job interview. The organizer of the meeting gave me a call from the Teams number and the interview continued but, it was very inconvenient and it made me look under prepared. From this new found experience, it's always good to also call in as a backup (lol), as I may not have got the job because of the Teams volume not working.

Doesn't sound like the same issue I'm afraid.

The issue the rest of us had was a Teams external meeting crashing out the audio driver completely on the device.
This appeared to be fixed months ago despite no comms from Microsoft to officially acknowledge the issue let alone the fix.

Bear in mind Microsoft have just released Windows 10 22H2 which will come with it's own raft of bugs/issues/problems.
