No sound when entering a Meeting on Teams

Hello,

I have observed on numerous occasions that when I enter a Meeting on the Microsoft Teams Windows app (with my Mic and Camera off, because it is university related and someone else is presenting) I can't hear anything. It doesn't happen all the time. I have tried entering the Meeting again and sometimes it works and I can hear. I have also opened the Volume mixer and that was not the issue (the Meeting was note muted). I even tried reinstalling the App. This only happens in a Meeting, not a private call with someone else and only on the Windows app, not the browser. I would like to use the App though, so does anyone know how I can solve this?

Thank you in advance!

Unfortunately just had this issue again. Luckily this time I was able to jump straight on and put the admin prompt in for the audio driver troubleshooting which then reloaded the driver and the red cross went away and the audio options could then be loaded.

This hasn't happened for weeks so I had hoped it was resolved but clearly not.

I just wish Microsoft would work towards a fix for this!

The problem is ALL audio options are greyed out whilst the audio driver is crashed out (red cross on speaker icon in system tray), so changing options etc isn’t possible.

Another workaround besides stripping the software off and renaming any config folders in the user profile is to start the meeting on another device and then transfer to the affected device.

However for a user at home on a laptop without Teams on their phone or another device (such as in my case) the workaround isn’t possible.

It would appear stripping Teams off and renaming the folders in the AppData > Local & Roaming and then re-installing has cleared this error.

It was still just with this one company's Office 365 tenancy. Other external suppliers never had the issue.

I have the same from time to time. After reboot, it works. After a few meetings, no more sounds again.
