Missing icon breakout rooms

Hi, 

I'm a teacher using a teams account connected with the school! When I start a meeting in Teams I can't see the icon for the use of breakoutrooms. I checked the microsoft guide for working with the breakout rooms, but I can't get the icon to appear in the meeting. I checked my settings according to the guide and it should work. 

Some tips on how to get the icon in would be much appreciated! :)

    Try to install Teams for VDI environment. Some applications such as Citrix might cause some feature of Teams to be not visible.

    Install teams for VDI (Virtual Desktop Infrastructure)

    Download the Teams MSI package that matches your machine's operating system

    32-bit version : Find the download link for this version in the Microsoft docs reference link

    64-bit version: https://teams.microsoft.com/downloads/desktopurl?env=production&plat=windows&arch=x64&managedInstaller=true&download=true

    Note: Download links might get changed over time.

    I recommend to follow Per-Machine Installation in this case: (find out more in docs reference for per-user installation)

    Create the registry cmd admin:

    reg add "HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Teams" /v IsWVDEnvironment /t REG_DWORD /d 1 /f

    cd to the downloaded exe file location in the directory and run the MSI file. I recommend to use ALLUSERS=1 too (more info in the Microsoft docs link about this):

    msiexec /i Teams_windows_x64 /l*v teams_install.log ALLUSER=1 ALLUSERS=1

    Sing out sign back in from the users profile

    After sign back, sign out and sign back in on Teams for it to understand it is installed on a VDI environment.

    Sarah, the new meeting experience is now automatically turned on, once the cache is cleared. The actual option to "turn on new meeting experience" was removed by Microsoft, I suspect because it didn't work in many cases like this where the script to clear the cache is required.

    Hi Linda,

    I'm a free Teams user and I'm unable to see the breakout room icon.

    I tried going to General Settings to "Turn on new meeting experience" and am unable to see that either.

    What am I missing?

    I have the same issue of no breakout room icon. We just recently switched from the Commercial Virtual Remote version of Teams to Army 365 and I no longer have the breakout rooms icon. I have the “Turn on new meeting” selected but I’m still not seeing the option like we had before to create breakout rooms from the main room.  Can you help with that?
