MacOS Catalina and Teams Screen Sharing

I updated to MacOS Catalina and now I cannot share my app screens. I can share my desktop, but that is all others can see.

My system had an entry (unchecked) for Microsoft teams. I think it asked me as I was launching but I blew by it. Not sure how you'd add it if it's not there. You just have to turn it on, and Teams screen sharing will work.

    In my case I re-enabled the new meeting experience and I am still able to share my screen.   I'm curious if that works for you as well.

    Thank you, everyone. these instructions did work for me. So I can never use the new experience with Catalina? I liked the separate window for meetings. 

    • uncheck "Turn on new meeting experience" in settings
    • restart Teams
    • go into a meeting and share screen
    • it asks for permission to allow
    • at this point it should show up in the Security & Privacy -> Privacy -> Screen Recording

    I have updated to latest version of Catalina 10.15.7 and latest version of Teams 1.3.00.28778  and the problem is still there. Teams does not allow to shared screen and it is authorized in the security settings of Catalina.

    Now if I open the MacOs Calendar in my screen I am able to share my screen with Teams. If I minimized Calendar or close it then I am not able to share my screen in Teams anymore.

    I have repeated several times the same operation and it is congruent, if it is open in the screen the Teams allow me to share my screen  if it is minimized or closed the Teams does not share the screen.

    I just share the observation if it can help others....

    Hi, did you do the following:

    • uncheck "Turn on new meeting experience" in settings
    • restart Teams
    • go into a meeting and share screen
    • it asks for permission to allow
    • at this point it should show up in the Security & Privacy -> Privacy -> Screen Recording
