Found it.

System Preferences

Screen Recording

My system had an entry (unchecked) for Microsoft teams. I think it asked me as I was launching but I blew by it. Not sure how you'd add it if it's not there. You just have to turn it on, and Teams screen sharing will work.

    Hi Brian,

I have OS X 10.15.1. This solutions you have proposed worked for me once, but if I quit Teams the problem with sharing screen permissions begins again!!! The mystery is that I see that Teams created 19 Sept 2020 was modified on 25 Oct. 2020 (I have not changed anything myself). Moreover, if I enter Teams with link created before (unfortunately in this case I should invite again each student) I can share the screen, but if I enter MS Teams directly I am continuously asked about the permission again and again. It is very annoying to breaks the lecture for 50 students and exercise with ‘go out and go in’ procedure. Is there any more stable solution? Is Mac working on that (since upgrading is evidently not compatible with previous versions 10.14 Mojave)?

I restarted this morning (Mac mini) and I still see it listed in the screen recording allowed box.  So after restart is was gone from the settings?

    Hi

It's still listed and ticked in system preferences/ screen sharing after a restart but it will only share PowerPoint and not the desktop or other documents unless System preferences is left open then it all works ok...

    Hello!

Someone posted this but I don't know who so I am pasting it here. It worked for me and now I can see Teams listed in the permissions.

    Hi all,

So I tried the full screen method and it didn't seem to work for me but I finally figured out a way to get it to show up in the Security & Privacy settings.

First of all, I have the latest versions of both Catalina (10.15.7) and MS Teams.  I was not able to share anything at all during a meeting.  I remembered being asked during installation about enabling the new meeting experience where it opens up in a separate window so I thought that might be related.

    What I did was this:

    • uncheck this option in settings, see screenshot below
    • restart Teams
    • go into a meeting and share screen
    • it asks for permission to allow
    • and at this point it shows up in the Security & Privacy -> Privacy -> Screen Recording
