Recent update to Teams causes beeping in headset when on mute

Been using Teams since the start of lockdown with a headset. As of today I am getting a double-beep at about five second intervals (like a hold beep) in the headset when I am muted. This has not happened before and been using same headset for months.

Also note that when I mute / unmute in Teams, the headset now announces "mute on" and "mute off" to me.

This feels like a Teams update has created this "feature" - please turn it off!

100% agreed!! I love my Aftershokz and would not change them for anything. The typical "Aftershokz is not a certified device, therefore it is likely the source of your problem" is such a crock of S**t. It is happening across several different devices, including some of the "Certified" headsets. I feel as if that response is just their way of brushing us off and making it "not their problem".

Yes, they did the same for me as well. Great customer support from Shockz. Still don't understand why this is a Microsoft 'feature'.

I'm experiencing this problem right now with Aftershokz Opencomm & Bose QC 35 II's.

This is obnoxious beyond belief and makes calls impossible to manage.

I cannot express my level of aggrivation at Microsoft for doing this. Beyond words.

Still working on 'that' fix :) I'm open to suggestions though...

If I disconnect my headset (Bluetooth Audio settings) and then reconnect while in a Teams meeting, it will stop the 'beeping' until I leave the meeting and reconnect to another.
