Can you mute by default whenever you enter a TEAMS meeting? I know this option is available in WebEx, but can't seem to find it in the settings in TEAMS.

Even if I am joining a call with 1 other person, I would prefer that my mic be muted by default.

At the very least make it a device preference.

This! I was just on a call with approximately 15 others only to discover that talking to myself was overheard when someone agreed with what I said.

Users should have the option to set a default rather than having to go in each and every time.

Or waiting in the lobby, looking at something on another screen and dropping an "F" bomb not knowing you had been admitted to the meeting :(. This feature is available on pretty much EVERY conferencing app in existence.

    +1

Same story, Googled the issue, found this thread. This is still very much an issue.

The Teams UI, in terms of contrast and intuitiveness IMHO rates as a bit of a downgrade to its predecessor Skype. All around, not just in terms of lacking a "ALWAYS DEFAULT TO MUTED" option.

And I'll go 1 further, as a Gamer on my free-time. In Video Game Communications I prefer to use a feature known as "Push (this button) to talk". If I'm not pressing that button, I'm muted, period.

    Cheers,

    Honey Glazed Donut
