Windows 11 Taskbar unlock

In Windows 10 and earlier, when using a computer for the first time, I always unlocked the taskbar, expanded it by two levels, and then I was able to see all my icons and the date, time, and, I think, day of the week.

Now, on a new computer with Windows 11 installed, I can hardly believe there is no way to unlock the taskbar!

They removed that feature but you can get a small registry file called Explorer Patcher through soft pedia and that will turn your taskbar back into the Windows 10 format

I downloaded that file, it never worked right and now it messed with how I interact with other apps (calculator app won't let me enter a number with a decimal)! I don't know how to uninstall it unless I do a recovery of my computer.

Unlocking the taskbar is not negotiable. It must UNLOCK. I need all the real estate on any monitor. There is always more horizontal width than vertical length. My taskbar has been on the LEFT side of any monitor always. Without that so called feature windows 11 is a large step back.

So while using Google to search for a way to unlock my taskbars so that I can move two of them to the areas I was used to on my first and third screen with Windows 10, I started watching a video of software you can download to give Windows this feature back and I realized that the Windows button on the task bar wasn't centered in the video of the person's desktop screen (it was on the left of the task bar as I've gotten used to over so many versions of the Windows Operating System). Mine is centered. When I started thinking about it as I looked at all my taskbar icons being centered instead of to the left of the taskbar, I started asking myself, "Where have I seen this before?" Microsoft, I have a suggestion for you. Stop trying to be Apple. You have your own unique ideas that are better. You're better then that. Stop it! Give us back the things that made us unique please. Thank you.

This is a feature that many users want, but unfortunately, it is currently not possible in Windows 11. I heard that Microsoft is considering adding this feature, but there is currently no way to adjust the height of the taskbar in Windows 11.

Even if they let us move it would help. Whoever changed this should be fired ~ yesterday

I agree whoever thought of locking the taskbar and making so not be unlocked then adding it to Windows 11 should not only be fired yesterday or before yesterday but he should be shot after being fired. This might have been done because they were trying to clean your Windows desktop up for you but they should leave that up to the user and stop messing Windows with things that are not needed and very likely never will be needed.
