High ram usage while idle on a windows 11 pc

fast boot is on in windows 11.

when shut down and then start windows 11, or reboot windows, it will resume last state when fast boot is on.

So if memory usage was high in last state, your memory usage will still be high even if you reboot and with almost no app opened.

search online on how to turn off fast boot.

with fast boot off, you can allievate high memory usage situation by reboot.

but there is definitely a bug in windows 11 thats causing memory leak continuously. unfortunately, we can't fix it by using other diagnose apps, such as RAMmap. We can only go around it.

Hello, same issue. Fresh OS with drivers and simple software installed. 32GB of RAM and 95% used in browser. DON'T tell me that OS allocates more for applications to be used in future - i know that BUT if its allocated it's counted into application that you can check and verify in future if you want to use that app still or manage it somehow. Unused RAM = wasted RAM - yes so thats why i'm here - my RAM is not utilized according to what windows says and its wasted for my personal use - yes i can see drops in frames and application performance. I've counted all programs RAM usage (non microsoft) and it led me to around 2,5 GB and for microsoft combined + those non microsoft 6,4GB. WHERE OTHER 26GB GOES? If its not assigned to process ITS NOT USED BY IT in any OS administration meanings - if yes and thats new approach please make some offical KB as I will revise using Windows Server in our Unit at work as if that will be implemented same way we will go to linux infra as it will be much easier to monitor and manage - obviously it already is but due to some application limitation and easy to run on windows we are on them for now. So please make official statement if thats a case and view in Task manager or Powershell outputs are now invalid and just approximate overview.

On MY PC running windows 11, I have noticed that when the computer wakes up from sleep, memory load is >50% (about 16.4GB) on 32GB total RAM. Copy and paste stops working. (I.e. Copy from webpage and try to paste to notepad will not work.) Also, if you right click on desktop and try to select anything on the pop-up menu/box that appears, it can't be done with the mouse and have to use tab/up/down arrows/Enter keys to select. I have to reboot the system and then everything works ok until the PC is idle and goes to sleep and wakes up. Seems like an OS/Memory problem that needs to be resolved.

hii i have same issue its taking 50% to 60% percent on idle ,how do i fix this

Possibly so much ram is being ate because Microsoft forgot about rational RAM usage. Each service takes its so Windows 11 is eating too much. Would be better, if all services ate less. Currently I don't want to do something with Windows 11. Even I have programming skills I just want to feel entire normal customer experience XD
