I2C HID Driver Touchpad Failure (I think I solved it)

I have realme book slim and having the same issue
this issue gets fixed automatically after 4-5 days
i have got this problems more then 5 times this month

This thread has been helpful and i would like to return the favor.

I am using a Lenovo Yoga Slim 7i (non-touch). I was also bothered by this issue for several months now, and finally found a solution, from a combination of recommendations i got here.

What i did first is to use the laptop in normal mode, meaning, not turning on the "energy saver" function and keeping it plugged in. Then, i restart the laptop. It worked!

After which and still not on battery and power saving mode, i went to "settings" > device manager > Human interface device > right clicked the I2C and under the power management tab, uncheck the "allow the computer to turn of this device to save power option"

Hope this helps! Will also update if there will be issues in the future!

hi the best solutions I found is to just disable and reenable the hid compliant touchpad driver. not sure if this solution is permanent. but it worked for now.

If the touchpad on your laptop has failed. You're playing now you see it, now you don't wit TOUCHPAD in your settings. And no customer support can assist you from HP or MSFT, try this it just worked for me...

Go to DEVICE MANAGER

Expand HUMAN INTERFACE DEVICES

And you see 12C HID Device has an error.

If you click DRIVER and then UNINSTAL DEVICE the 12C HID Device is delisted, and on startup it magically refreshes.

I was hoping that would do it, but the TOUCHPAD was still inoperative, and the error persisted.

Then, on a wild thought. I repeated UNINSTAL on all of the HID-compliant Device tabs. My thought was the whole HID Device needed a reboot. As soon as they all delisted, I said a prayer and rebooted.

And my touchpad was finally restored!

I hope this helps others, as this was really frustrating.

Ps. In Touchpad settings (once you can access them again) it's also a good idea to tic LEAVE TOUCHPAD ON WHEN MOUSE IS CONNECTED.

Duuuuuuuuuuuude. This was so helpful, thank you. I was going crazy trying to figure this out.
I didn't need to restart or uninstall though, instead it worked when I disabled it and then enabled it again.

I know nothing about computers so I was lucky when this popped up when I googled "I2C HID device".

if you have an amd cpu s' still search for this option there....try this Regedit>H_Key Local Machine>System>CurrentControlSet>Services

Then do this on both of this sections = amdfender , amdfendermgr

[Click on the start option within these folders , change the numbers from 4 to 3]
