I tried commenting on an article for the first time today. When i went to sign up and agree to the terms a window said in red letters "The username violates our guidelines"...

my username is my first and last name so I don't understand why I'm seeing this. There is no option to dispute on screen https://account.microsoft.com/profile?ocid=msedgntp

This is also happening to me. I also was using my real name. I tried to change it to something else but it still won't let me post. Considering the original complaint about this issue was 25 days ago I guess Microsoft has no intention of fixing this issue or just doesn't care. What a shocker....and they wonder why people don't switch from Google....

I sincerely hope this isn't some kind of retaliatory action by pleebs that work at Microsoft against people who post conservative comments. The fact that it isn't fixed going on a month later really, really screams "woke tech" employees trying to stop free speech once again.

    Microsoft: Fix this issue please

I have this problem too. I tried my real name and something else that was not offensive or breaking guidelines in any way that I am aware yet MSN News still says my name violates the terms and conditions. I rarely ever want to comment or be part of discussions on MSN new articles but occasionally would like to have the option to comment.

There is obviously no way to contact MSN directly by design for an explanation or fix (much the same as the problems associated with Gmail and Amazon and their security verifications where they now refuse to let you verify with a landline telephone number and anyone who has set up an account with a landline number is now locked out wit no way to get back into their accounts.

I guess the real reasons are because there is no subscription fee to access the services that there is no duty to fix bugs - if you are affected by them / or locked out of an account you are screwed !!

I no longer use Gmail and Amazon and I will no longer use MSN for news either. Nor will I ever use any 'subscriptions or purchased products from any of these companies where I can avoid it. Poor FREE service support is an indication of POOR Paid for services support. I don't any of them anymore.
